To add or subtract fractions having different denominators steps are:
• Find a common denominator for these fractions(can take LCM of all denominators).
• Each fraction to an equivalent fraction with the chosen common denominator.
• Write a fraction whoes numerator is the sum(or difference) of the numerators of the new fractions and whose denominator is the common denominator
• Reduce the resulting fraction in lowest terms.
In the given question
2/3 + 5/6 - 3/10
= 20/30 + 25/30 - 9/30
= (20 + 25 - 9)/30
= 36/30
= 6/5
