For solving this kind of question all terms of variable x should be brought on the left side of the equal sign and all constants should be brought on the right side of equal sign and after that we would solve this equation for variable x
For this question
2(x-1) = 5-(3-x)
2x-2 = 5-3+x
2x-x = 5-3+2
x = 4
