If we multiply two numbers with same base number then the powers get added up, this can be understood with the following examples.
Let us consider base number as A
Example 1
Multiplying a number by itself n times can be written as:
A * A * A * A ……… * A = A^(1+1+1+…..+1)= A^n
Here we multiplied base number (A) n times, so the end result is A^n
Example 2
Multiplying two numbers with same base and different powers:
A^n * A^m = A^(n+m)
