 This lesson explains concepts of addition of signed numbers i.e. numbers with same and opposite signs. To add two numbers that have the same sign: Follow the steps as below: • find the sum of the absolute values. • give the sum the common sign.To add two numbers those have different signs: Follow the steps as below, • find the difference of the absolute values of the numbers. • give this difference the sign of the number that has the greater absolute value. • the sum is 0 if both numbers have the same absolute value.
