Geometry: Angle of Elevation and Depression
This is a free lesson from our course in Geometry

This mini-lesson introduces and walks you through the basic concepts about the trigonometric functions and explains how you can solve word problems that involve angle of elevation and depression. It should help you to enhance skills to enable applying with the distance formula knowledge, in everyday practical situations and real life applications. You'll learn it with the help of some examples and practice questions with solution, using video and explanations in own handwriting by the instructor that brings in an element of real-class room experience.
Angles of Elevation and Depression - Geometry - Watch video (Geometry)

angles, elevation, geometry, depression, method, angles of elevation and depression, find, problem, angle of elevation, angle of depression, example, solution, geometry help, practice questions, quizzes

It covers the steps or method to find angle of elevation or angle of depression when the distance is known

(Continued from above) The angle of elevation is the angle formed by a horizontal line and the line joining an observer's eye or an object to some other object above the horizontal line. On the other hand an angle of depression is the angle formed by a horizontal line and the line joining an observer's eye or an object to some other object beneath the horizontal line. It also covers the steps or method to find angle of elevation or angle of depression when the distance is known, alternatively the method to find out the distance or length, given the angle of elevation or depression. For example, if a tree is 10 feet in height and casts a shadow of length 15 feet, then the angle of elevation from the end of the shadow to the top of the tree is 34.

The video above will explain more in detail about Angles of Elevation and Depression, and how to apply the concepts in solving real-world problems. This is explained with the help of several examples and done watching video. This helps you to deal with solving problems and help doing the Geometry home work.

As many of you know, Winpossible's online courses use a unique teaching method where an instructor explains the concepts in any given area to you in his/her own voice and handwriting, just like you see your teacher explain things to you on a blackboard in your classroom. This particular lesson includes the teacher's instruction, practice questions as well as end-of-lesson quizzes for practice. As we mentioned above, you can enroll in our online course in Geometry by clicking here.

The format of Winpossible's online courses is also very suitable for teachers who are using an interactive whiteboard such as Smartboard on Promethean in their classrooms, because the course lessons can be easily displayed on such interactive whiteboards. Volume pricing is available for schools interested in our online courses. For more information, please contact us at educators@winpossible.com.
