Small part of the explanation from video:
English: Today we are going to learn the present continuous or present progressive tense.
Spanish: Hoy vamos a aprender el tiempo presente continuo o presente progresivo.
English: We use this grammatical tense to express an action or state of being that occurs in the same moment in which one speaks. For example:
Spanish: Usamos este tiempo gramatical para expresar una acción o estado que ocurre en el mismo momento en que se habla. Por ejemplo:
English: “I am teaching the present progressive tense.” As you can see, the auxiliary verb of the present continuous or present progressive verb is the verb ‘estar’ which is conjugated according to subject: “you are listening to the explanation.”
Spanish: “Yo estoy enseñando el tiempo presente progresivo.” Como ves, el auxiliar del tiempo presente continuo o presente progresivo es el verbo ‘estar’ que se conjuga de acuerdo con el sujeto: “tú estás escuchando la explicación”.
English: The verb ending –ando such as ‘estudiar’, ‘estudiando’ y –iendo such as ‘escribir’, ‘éscribiendo’, it’s called gerundio.
Spanish: La terminación del verbo –ando como en ‘estudiar’, ‘estudiando’ y –iendo como ‘escribir’, ‘escribiendo’, se llama gerundio.
English: Remember that in Spanish we only use this tense when we want to talk about whatever is happening at the current moment. Let’s see more examples:
Spanish: Recuerda que en español, sólo usamos este tiempo cuando queremos hablar sobre lo que ocurre en el momento actual. Veamos más ejemplos:
English: “they are paying attention”, “we are writing the phrases”,
Spanish: “ellos están poniendo atención”, “nosotros estamos escribiendo las frases”,
English: “Mary is studying the gerund uses”.
Spanish: “María está estudiando el uso del gerundio”.
English: “The children are playing in the park in this moment”
Spanish: “Los niños están jugando en el parque en este momento.”
English: “My grandmother is watching television now.”
Spanish: “Mi abuela está mirando la televisión ahora.”
English: “Carlos and María are running”.
Spanish: “Carlos y María están corriendo.”
English: “I am doing the exercises”.
Spanish: “Yo estoy haciendo los ejercicios.”
English: How do you answer the question “What are you doing?, “There are several possibilities: “I am reading” or “I am listening” or “I am learning”
Spanish: Cómo respondes a la pregunta “¿Qué estás haciendo?”, hay varias posibilidades: “Estoy leyendo” o “estoy escuchando”, o “estoy aprendiendo.”
English: Let’s see for example: “what is Juanita doing?”
Spanish: Veamos por ejemplo: “ ¿qué está haciendo Juanita?”
English: “She is playing the piano”.
Spanish: “Ella está tocando el piano.”
English: What are Carlos and María doing?
Spanish: “¿Qué están haciendo Carlos y María?”
English: “They are dancing salsa music”
Spanish: “Ellos están bailando música salsa”
English: Very well. We are learning a new tense that we are going to use very frequently. Now you can go to the practice section.
Spanish: Muy bien. Estamos aprendiendo un nuevo tiempo que vamos a usar con mucha frecuencia. Ahora puedes ir a la sección de práctica.
