English: Let’s see some verbs that are irregular because the first person singular in present is irregular.
Spanish: Veamos algunos verbos que son irregulares porque la primera persona presente del singular es irregular.
English: The verb to go out; I go out, but you go out, he, she, (you formal) goes out, we go out, you go out, they, they, you go out.
Spanish: El verbo salir; yo salgo, pero, tú sales, él, ella, usted sale, nosotros salimos, vosotros salís, ellos, ellas, ustedes salen.
English: Example: I go out with my friends on weekends.
Spanish: Ejemplo: Yo salgo con mis amigos los fines de semana.
English: Another example: I leave my house very early in the morning.
Spanish: Otro ejemplo: Salgo de mi casa muy temprano por la mañana.
English: The verb “to do” is also irregular in the first person: I do, but the rest of the conjugation is regular, you do, he, she, (you formal) does, we do, you do, they, they, you do.
Spanish: El verbo “hacer” también es irregular en la primera persona: yo hago,pero el resto de la conjugación es regular, tú haces, él, ella, usted hace, nosotros hacemos, vosotros hacéis, ellos, ellas, ustedes hacen.
English: Example: I exercise every day at the gym.
Spanish: Ejemplo: Yo hago ejercicio cada día en el gimnasio.
English: Another example: I make coffee in my house every morning.
Spanish: Otro ejemplo: Hago café en mi casa cada mañana.
English: Another verb: to put, I put, but you put, he, she, (you formal) puts, we put, you put, they, they, you put.
Spanish: Otro verbo: poner; yo pongo, pero tú pones, él, ella, usted pone, nosotros ponemos, vosotros ponéis, ellos, ellas, ustedes ponen.
English: Example: I put the book on the table.
Spanish: Ejemplo: Yo pongo el libro sobre la mesa.
English: Or, I put my money in the bank.
Spanish: O, pongo mi dinero en el banco.
English: The verb to bring: I bring, but you bring, he, she, (you formal) brings, we bring, you bring, they, they, you bring.
Spanish: El verbo traer: yo traigo, pero tú traes, él, ella, usted trae, nosotros traemos, vosotros traéis, ellos, ellas ustedes traen.
English: Example: I bring my homework to class.
Spanish: Ejemplo: Yo traigo mi tarea a la clase.
English: Another example: I bring my favorite music with me.
Spanish: Otro ejemplo: Traigo conmigo mi música favorita.

English: Another verb: to translate, I translate, but you translate, he, she, (you formal) translate, we translate, you translate, they, they, you translate.
Spanish: Otro verbo: traducir, yo traduzco, pero tú traduces, él, ella, usted traduce, nosotros traducimos, vosotros traducís, ellos, ellas, ustedes traducen.
English: Example: I translate from English to Spanish.
Spanish: Ejemplo: Yo traduzco del inglés al español.
English: The verb to know: I know, but you know, he, she, (you formal) knows, we know, you know, they, they, you know.
Spanish: El verbo conocer: yo conozco, pero tú conoces, él, ella, usted conoce, nosotros conocemos, vosotros conocéis, ellos, ellas ustedes conocen.
English: Example: I know New York city.
Spanish: Ejemplo: Yo conozco la ciudad de Nueva York.
English: Or, I know a lot of people in my neighborhood.
Spanish: O, conozco muchas personas en mi barrio.
English: To fit: I fit, but you fit, he, she, (you formal) fits, we fit, You fit, they, they, you fit.
Spanish: Caber: yo quepo, pero tú cabes, él, ella, usted cabe, nosotros cabemos, vosotros cabéis, ellos, ellas, ustedes caben.
English: Example: I fit in the taxi with my five friends.
Spanish: Ejemplo: Yo quepo en el taxi con mis cinco amigos.
English: When I eat a lot I don’t fit in my pants.
Spanish: Cuando como mucho no quepo en mis pantalones.
English: To see: I see, but you see, he, she, (you formal) sees, we see, you see, they, they, you see.

English: Example: I watch the news on television.
Spanish: Ejemplo: Yo veo las noticias por la televisión.
English: Another example: I see the future with optimism.
Spanish: Otro ejemplo: Veo el futuro con optimismo.
English: And finally the verb to know: I know, but you know, he, she, (you formal) knows, we know, you know, they, they, you know.
Spanish: Y finalmente el verbo saber: yo sé, pero tú sabes, él, ella usted sabe, nosotros sabemos, vosotros sabéis, ellos, ellas ustedes saben.
English: Example: I know how to speak Spanish.
Spanish: Ejemplo: yo sé hablar español.
