Prism
A prism is a solid figure with a uniform cross section. Some of the examples of prisms are: The surface area of any prism equals the sum of the areas of its faces, which includes the floor (base), roof (top) and walls. Because the floor and the roof of a prism have the same shape, the surface area can always be expressed as:
Surface area of prism = 2 * area of base + perimeter of base * H

Rectangular based prism
Base shape: Rectangle, length 'L' and width 'W'
Area of base: L * W
Perimeter of base: 2(L + W)
Surface area = 2LW + 2(L + W)H

Circular based prism
Area of base: r2
Perimeter of base: 2r
Surface area = 2r2 + 2rH

Triangular based prism
Base shape: Triangle: base 'b', height 'h', and sides S1, S2 and S3
Area of base: 1/2(b * h)
Perimeter of base: S1+ S2 + S3
Surface area = bh + (S1+ S2 + S3) H

Right Circular Cylinder
The base and upper face of a right circular cylinder are equal circular regions and lie in parallel planes. The perpendicular distance between these parallel faces is the height of the cylinder.
 volume = r2h curved surface area = 2rh Total surface area of a cylinder = 2r * (r + h) Volume of cylindrical shell = h(R2 - r2) Where R is the outer radius and r is the inner radius.
