Recall from math class that when multiplying fractions, if the same number is on the top and bottom, these numbers cancel out.

Similarly same units can be canceled i.e. units cancel just like numbers do!

Let's take an example: multiply "66 inches" by "1 foot per 12 inches."
Step 1.
multiply 66 inches, 1 foot per 12 inches

Step 2.
multiply 66 inches

Step3.
1 foot per 12 inches
