Geometry: Interior and Exterior Angles of Polygons

This lesson explains about the properties and relationship of angles of polygons in general and particularly of Interior and Exterior angles of Polygon. The presentation covering such content will be done by the instructor in own handwriting, using video and with the help of several examples with solution.
Any polygon, regular or irregular, simple or self-intersecting, has as many corners as its sides. Each corner has several angles. The two adjacent sides and the vertex of polygon define an angle. The measure of an angle refers to the amount of rotation needed such that one of the line segments should superimpose onto the other. More often when the angles of a polygon are referred, it would mean interior angles. (More text below video...)

Classifying Polygons
(Continued from above) You may notice the important property of polygons: all polygons with the same number of sides have the same sum of interior angles. For example: if you add the three interior angles of any triangle (3 side polygon), it’ll result up to 180°. Similarly four angles of any quadrilateral (4 side polygon) will add up to 360°, and for pentagon it will be 540°. When you walk through some practice exercises; would learn that for the polygon with 3 sides, sum of interior angles is 180°. For every additional side than three, 180 degrees is added to the sum. E.g. the sum of interior angles of quadrilateral shall be (180 + 180) = 360°.
