3a^3 + 2a^2 + 6a + 4
Factoring this expression with the help of grouping, for that we will take greatest common factor from first two terms and the last two terms.
= a^2{ 3a + 2 } + 2{3a + 2}
Taking largest common factor from the two terms
= {3a + 2}{a^2 + 2}

Checking:
= (3a + 2)(a^2 + 2)
= 3a(a^2 + 2) + 2(a^2 + 2)
= 3a*a^2 + 3a*2 + 2*a^2 + 2*2
= 3a^3 + 6a + 2a^2 + 4
= 3a^3 + 2a^2 + 6a + 4
This is same as question.
